Custom drone landing pad? I’m in love with mine — and I’m giving away 10 free custom landing pads to you!

When you think “drone landing pad,” chances are you picture the standard blue or orange foldable discs marked with a giant “H.” Functional? Sure. But fun? Not so much. And that’s just not my style. I’d much rather have a custom drone landing pad.

That’s exactly what I got from Premium Drone Supplies, which is taking drone launchpads from utilitarian to totally personalized. The company now offers custom printed drone landing pads. And yes, I tested one out. Here’s everything you need to know.

What is the custom drone landing pad like?

The landing pad is a 22″ x 22″ square (that’s 55.88 cm for the metric folks) made of 13 oz vinyl. That size is ideal for most standard camera drones like the DJI Mavic, Mini, and Air lines. The pad comes with corner grommet holes and metal stakes. Those are a critical inclusion because without them, this lightweight vinyl would likely fly off in a gust of wind faster than your drone can lift off.

The printing is weatherproof and really does feel durable. I tested mine on both dry grass and light gravel, and it held up well.

Custom printing process: super easy, surprisingly picky (in a good way)

Uploading your design is simple, and you can print just about anything — a family photo, your dog, a favorite aerial shot or maybe your company’s logo.

I tested mine out with a few Drone Girl logos. Initially I tried a few images that were too small. Happily, the site’s system warned me right away — and made it easy to try again. The site recommends a minimum image size of 3000 pixels for the sharpest results. Once I uploaded a high-res file, the process was smooth, and my landing pad came out super crisp and vibrant. I almost don’t want to set it on dirt because of how beautiful it is!

How it arrived + portability

The landing pad ships rolled up in a tube — kind of like a poster. That tube’s now doubling as my carry case, and it’s way more convenient than those bulky fold-up pads with metal wireframes that never seem to collapse properly. This vinyl version rolls back up easily, so it’s perfect for tossing in your drone bag.

The good and the meh

What I loved:

  • You can design it with literally anything. Mine features one of my favorite Drone Girl logo designs which I’ve been using for years as my iPhone screen background (and yes I offer multiple logo designs as free desktop and phone wallpapers).
  • Print quality is sharp and vivid.
  • Great gift idea for your drone-obsessed friend.
  • At $49.97, it’s well-priced — and you can save $5 with my code SALLYFRENCH at checkout.

What I didn’t love:

  • The edges seemed a bit roughly cut, which doesn’t affect performance but slightly undercuts the otherwise high-quality feel.
  • It’s still about 3x the price of a generic landing pad. If you prioritize price, you’ll be fine with a $15 drone landing pad from Amazon. With this custom drone landing pad, you’re paying for the cute factor.

Want to win your own custom drone landing pad? I’m giving away 10 in a contest!

I’m hosting a giveaway on Instagram, and it’s super simple to enter:

Winners will be notified by Instagram DM

Whether you want your drone to land on your dog’s face, your company logo, or your own drone photography, these pads are a rad way to add personality to your takeoffs and landings.

Now go fly your drone somewhere awesome — and land in style.
