“Behind the Wings” PBS drone special TV episode set to air Thursday

Mark your calendars for a drone-filled television event! On Thursday, November 2 at 9:30 pm ET, a PBS drone special episode of “Behind the Wings” will air.

This episode is set to feature Archer Aviation, DroneUp and Walmart, the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, and Drone Express and MissionGo. All those companies and organizations share one key focus, drone delivery, suggesting that this PBS show could provide some key insights into what 2024 holds for the drone delivery world.

That focus comes at a particularly exciting time for the delivery side of drones. Walmart, which will be featured in the show, recently added Wing (the sister company of Google) as a drone delivery partner. Just this past summer, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) granted BVLOS approval to four companies (many of which are delivery-focused) that would allow them to operate select drones without a visual observer watching the drone’s every move. Even DJI launched its delivery drone, the FlyCart 30, recently.

Dawn Zoldi, the CEO of P3 Tech Consulting, will host the “Behind the Wings”, a Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum project episode. Dawn Zoldi is a huge name in the drone industry. She’s a licensed attorney, a U.S. Air Force veteran, and a premier force in the drone industry. Along with an advisor for Women & Drones and an adjunct professor at Colorado State University. She puts on the annual, in-person Law-Tech Connect events (which have a webinar component for the virtual folks), and she’s also a podcast celebrity as she hosts the Dawn of Drones podcast, plus co-hosts two more: the Full Crew and Full TILT podcasts.
